This three-week course offers a deep dive into how and why organisations evolve, as well as the key strategies for managing that process successfully. While change is inevitable, knowing how to navigate it - and which best practices to apply - can make all the difference. What makes this course truly special is its debate-oriented approach, where diverse perspectives are not just welcomed but encouraged. One of the highlights for me was hearing fellow students share their real-world experiences from work or school, which broadened my thinking in unexpected ways. The emphasis on teamwork also stood out, providing a great opportunity to collaborate closely with classmates and build meaningful connections.

This course seamlessly integrates academic theory with real-world case studies spanning a variety of sectors, including retail, finance, sustainability, and technology. By examining how different industries approach transformation, I gained a multidimensional understanding of organisational change - from incremental adjustments to large-scale disruptions. The curriculum goes beyond abstract concepts, providing actionable frameworks to assess challenges, design effective strategies, and drive lasting impact. Whether exploring how traditional businesses adapt to digital competition or how mission-driven initiatives scale their influence, the course emphasises practical tools for diagnosing problems, overcoming resistance, and embedding change in a way that endures. Theres' also different elements such as simulation games and case-based discussions which make learning dynamic and engaging. You’ll walk away not only with stronger technical knowledge, but also with sharpened communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

The course is split in two classes, seminars and lectures - the first one in which you will review the reading materials and debate it and the second one which is more theory-oriented. In both classes you will participate in presentations, collaborate with different groups, share and debate ideas. Assessment is split between a group presentation and an individual written report (as of 2024), which means you get the chance to build both collaborative and independent thinking.
