Ana holds an MSc Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia and an MSc Development Studies from the University of Antwerp. Prior to joining the ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, she worked as a research assistant at UN-Habitat and as a trainee Programme Assistant at UNESCO.
Ana's research focuses on health-related impacts of climate change. She is especially interested in the impact of mosquito-borne diseases on labour productivity. She received the 2018 ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ-IDB Postgraduate Essay Prize for her paper on climatic and non-climatic determinants of vector-borne diseases under climate change scenarios in Brazil.

Ana is co-founder of the ½ûÂþÌìÌà PhD Women Network. The network aims at fostering exchange, support and mentoring between women PhD students from across disciplines and departments at the ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. We have been awarded with the Students Union Fund 2019 to support activities throughout the 2019/2020 academic year.
